Bidens Approval Ratings Remain Underwater

Biden's Approval Ratings Remain Underwater

Poll of Polls Shows President Facing Steep Challenges

Updated May 31, 2024 at 9:53 PM

President Joe Biden remains underwater in his overall job approval and ratings of his handling of six issues, according to a new Poll of Polls released by CNN Politics.

The poll, which averages 2020 presidential general election polls accounting for each poll's quality, shows Biden's approval rating at 37.8%, with 56.3% disapproving. This is a slight decrease from his approval rating of 38.2% in the previous Poll of Polls.

Biden's approval ratings have been consistently low since he took office in January 2021. The Poll of Polls shows that his approval rating has never been above 50%, and it has been below 40% for most of his presidency.

The poll also shows that Biden's approval ratings are low on a number of specific issues. For example, only 38% of Americans approve of his handling of the economy, and only 35% approve of his handling of foreign policy.

Biden's low approval ratings are a sign of the challenges he faces as he seeks to win re-election in 2024. He will need to improve his approval ratings significantly if he wants to have a chance of winning a second term.
